My Background & Vision

Racha Hyde
MSc MPharm MBA

I have eleven years of university education, including postgraduate degrees (with distinction) from the University of Algiers and Higher National School of Computer Science, two leading universities in Algeria, and from Durham University which I attended on a scholarship. Before moving to Britain, I ran a pharmacy in Algeria for ten years, after which I worked in London as a data consultant.

I excel in quantitative analysis, which I use to analyse health data to guide you in your fitness journey. In recognition of my skills, I was named a TechWomen Emerging Leader by the United States Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and have won several awards, including a coding scholarship from Women Who Code and the Rodney Galpin Trophy from Durham University Business School.

I have over three decades of martial arts experience in karate, taekwondo, and kendo. I won multiple gold medals in British University Competition Sports (BUCS) and have podium positions in international competitions. A lot of my time is spent training abroad, particularly at Japanese universities where I work with researchers in departments of sports and health science​, particularly on kendo.

My Vision

I aim to prove that mid-life doesn't mean a decline in health and fitness. I want to provide women with evidence-based tools, intelligent programming, and best support to help them achieve their fitness goals. I also aim to help athletes and martial artists translate their talent into greater explosive power, mobility, and conditioned resilience.

Evidence, not Trends

I'm subscribed to leading journals of health, nutrition, and sport science to keep up-to-date with the latest literature so that I can provide you with peer-reviewed, evidence-based guidance. I track metrics and use advanced analytics to measure your progress and identify hidden weaknesses that could be preventing you from reaching your goals.

Lived Experience

I work with clients like me: martial artists and women over 30. My consultancy is based in research but adapted with my experience for your personal circumstances. I know what it's like to be in your position, can empathise with the challenges that lie ahead, and am uniquely positioned to help you overcome them to achieve your goals.

Whole SysteM

Real improvements in health, fitness, and athletic performance happen when every lever pulls in the same direction. I don't just focus on your workouts in the gym; I work with you to improve your nutrition and lifestyle habits, and I can analyse your lab work to detect underlying conditions that might affect your health and fitness (e.g. thyroid problems, diabetes).

Realistic Coaching

Consistency is the biggest obstacle on most people's fitness journey, so I prioritise realistic plans. Whether you go to the gym daily, workout at home weekly, or are just starting out, I design programmes that fit in with your existing lifestyle. Progress is tracked, but flexibility is built in so that you don't need to live in the gym or give up on your favourite foods.

Limited Clients

I want to work closely with you and give you my full attention, so I cap my list of clients. Personalisation is at the core of what I do: I don't copy and paste plans from other trainers or reuse material I designed for other clients. That exclusivity also gives me the flexibility to hop on an unscheduled call when a surprise injury flares.
